OK, I'm trying to wrap my brain around all these car GPS systems, considering that I've never had one and never really had much interest. It's for a friend (Mohana) and I'm the research hound. However it seems like many people here have one in addition to handhelds, so I figured I'd ask.

Do most/all the car GPS have the ability to upload waypoints (or POI) from the computer via cable? I've seen multiple references to this, but mainly with Garmin Nuvis. This would be mainly for Geocaching. From looking at them in Best Buy, the only ones that seem to have the ability to manually input coordinates on-screen are the Garmins.

Basically, her requirements are the 4.3 screen, and the multi-destination routing. And preferrably having a way to upload caches to use it as a secondary GPS to a handheld.

Magellans seem to have multi-destination routing at a lower price. So I think we're leaning toward them... maybe the 1440.

If anyone who has info or helpful links it'd be appreciated. Its difficult looking these things up individually. Even the manufacturer websites don't really have complete info for specific questions.

Thanks!
