Many geocachers are caffeine freaks so here's a story worthy of discussion. In a taste test of mega-chain's coffees, McDonalds came out on top, superior even to Starbucks. Drop in on this forum thread and weigh in on this issue and take our own Geochums poll.

I simply can't believe that McDonald coffee out ranked anybody else's coffee in a taste test. McDonald's purposefully make their coffee taste bad in order to discourage people from lingering around and taking up table space just for a cup of coffee!

Up in Canada, Tim Horton's is by far the favorite coffee of choice. Their product offering is a simple, middle of the road flavor, always hot, always fresh, never bitter, reasonably priced and always brewed in carafes. In fact, Tim Hortons outsells McDonalds in overall fast food sales in Canada and commands about 3/4's of all the fast food coffee sold here. Tim Horton's coffee is the undisputed preferred caching "fuel" of choice here .

Tim Horton's was merged with Wendy's International in 1995 and the principal owner of Tim Horton's became the largest single shareholder of the merged company. The Tim Horton's brand is in the process of expanding into the US market. They appear well on their way to dominating the coffee shop market wherever they have opened. If you haven't tried them yet, look for them. And try one of their Walnut Crunch Crullers! You won't be disappointed.
