This is needed to keep the extremely accurate Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) -- correct. UTC has been the world's official clock and is used for broadcasting time signals across the world. I've known about GPS systems built into golf carts for a while now, but I just learned that there are now GPS units available to tell you how far you are from the green.
